Carole L. Swain is professor emerita of education and former vice president for mission at Saint Mary’s College of California. Over her 30-year tenure, she directed the College’s elementary education department, the Lasallian Studies Master's program, and the Lasallian Educator Fellowship, and co-founded the Teachers for Tomorrow program. Swain also served as dean of mission and faculty development and chaired the Academic Senate. The College honored her with the Professor of the Year award, and the Alumni Association recognized her with the Signum Fidei Award. She chaired the boards of Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School, De La Salle High School in Concord, and De Marillac Academy in San Francisco. Swain earned her PhD in education and psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
