Charles Dayton was the co-founder and director of the Career Academy Support Network at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Education, where he supported the development and expansion of career academies that integrate academic and technical education. He previously served as a policy analyst for Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE), where he conducted research on career academies and contributed to legislation supporting their statewide replication. Dayton played a key role in launching and administering California’s first two career academies and developing the model’s structure, emphasizing small learning communities, industry partnerships, and integrated curricula.
