Michelle Nayfack was the associate director of research practice partnerships for California Education Partners, a nonprofit that fosters collaborations among California school systems to help them better innovate, improve, and build internal capacity to close opportunity and learning gaps among students. In this role, she served as the director of the Stanford–Sequoia K–12 Research Collaborative, a partnership between the Stanford Graduate School of Education and nine school districts in San Mateo County, California. She was previously a senior researcher for system improvement at Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE), a researcher with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), and a research associate at the USC Center on Education Policy, Equity and Governance. Nayfack received her PhD in urban education from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. Earlier in her career, she taught high school English in Los Angeles.
